President Joe Biden is delivering an apology for the treatment of Native American children in United States boarding schools.
His speech is set to begin at 1:30 P.M. EST. This is his first visit to the Gila Indian River Community in Arizona as president.

“President Biden discusses the Biden-Harris Administration’s record of delivering for Tribal communities, including keeping his promise to make this historic visit to Indian Country — his first as President,” the White House said in its description of the event.
Former President Barack Obama became the first sitting president to visit a Native American reservation in 2014.
