Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) will hold a press conference in his hometown, located in Hudson County, New Jersey, following several calls for him to resign after he was charged on three counts by federal prosecutors last week after he allegedly accepted hundreds of thousands of dollars in bribes.

The senior New Jersey senator stepped down from his high-profile role as the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee after the indictment, which is his second in 10 years.
Several House Democrats have suggested he step down from the Senate and not run for reelection in 2024, along with top Republicans. However, some Democratic members of his own chamber have been hesitant to say whether he should resign.
