The House is holding another vote on a CR proposal Friday in hopes of avoiding a partial government shutdown, scheduled to begin at midnight.

The chamber failed to pass a Trump-backed proposal on Thursday that trimmed down the previous proposal, which didn’t even make it to the floor Wednesday, considerably.
Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) told reporters Friday that he’s “expecting votes this morning, so stay tuned — we’ve got a plan.”
