First lady Jill Biden will hold a reception at the White House on Tuesday evening to celebrate America’s return to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.

The White House announced the United States would return to UNESCO in July, ending a five-year absence from the organization. The return comes amid concerns that China filled the leadership vacancy after America’s exit during President Donald Trump’s administration.
