White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is holding a news briefing with national security adviser Jake Sullivan as the United Nations General Assembly is underway in New York until Friday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is set to meet with members of Congress and President Joe Biden on Thursday, arriving in Washington, D.C., as Republicans push back on giving more aid to Ukraine.

Sullivan has been meeting with global leaders to build U.S. relationships, such as Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Wednesday. Sullivan also met in Europe with China’s top diplomat Wang Yi over the weekend, discussing global and regional security issues.

Jean-Pierre is slated to begin the press conference at 1 p.m. EDT.
