The White House will hold its scheduled press briefing with press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and national security adviser Jake Sullivan on Tuesday as war rages in Israel.

The news conference will field questions about the next steps of Israel’s response as the U.S. sends security aid and military equipment overseas.

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have spoken by phone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, officials said. On Monday, the Israel Defense Forces ordered a “full siege” of Gaza while Israel’s military said they have reestablished control of the area. More than 1,800 people on both sides have been killed and thousands are wounded, with the number continuing to rise.
