President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden will host a Hanukkah celebration at the White House on Monday night as the president continues to condemn instances of antisemitism stemming from the war between Israel and Hamas.
The Bidens, as well as second gentleman Doug Emhoff, will attend the celebration. The husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, Emhoff is the first Jewish person to be married to one of the United States’s nationally elected leaders.

Hanukkah, which began on Dec. 7, continues until Dec. 15.

The celebration comes as war between the Jewish state and the Palestinian terrorist group continues after Hamas launched terrorist attacks against Israel on Oct. 7. Since then, Democrats and Republicans have declared unconditional support for their Jewish allies and condemned rising antisemitism across cities and college campuses.
The Hanukkah celebration at the White House will begin at 7 p.m. EST on Monday night.
