In another bid to rally New York voters during his hush money trial in Manhattan, former President Donald Trump is holding a campaign event in the deep-blue Bronx, with the rally’s start set for 6 p.m.

The South Bronx is Trump’s next stop among a flurry of campaign visits to sites in New York City amid his trial, such as his Harlem bodega visit. The Bronx Democratic Party is planning a protest of Trump’s rally.

Bronx County is one of the most liberal in New York, with only Manhattan County voting more decisively for President Joe Biden in 2020. A significant number of Bronx residents voted last election cycle, but it still accounted for the second-fewest votes of NYC’s five boroughs, with only GOP-friendly Staten Island recording fewer.

Trump lost New York to Biden 60.9% to 37.7% in 2020 as the Democrat drew a large chunk of his votes in the state from New York City.
