Press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre will hold a press briefing on Monday ahead of President Joe Biden’s trip to Detroit, where he will picket with autoworkers on strike.
The president is expected to visit the strikers on Tuesday to express support for the United Auto Workers members. The stop comes after he received an invitation to visit Detroit from UAW President Shawn Fain on Friday morning. Former President Donald Trump is expected to visit the workers on Wednesday.

Earlier this month, 13,000 UAW workers started a targeted strike of the three big automakers, General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis, in Michigan, Missouri, and Ohio. The union is seeking changes to workers’ contracts, including a 36% pay bump over the next four years.
The briefing is expected to start around 1:30 p.m. Eastern time.
