WATCH: Markwayne Mullin Schools Dana Bash After She Attacks Him With Maria Salazar Ad Claiming Half of Illegals Have “No Criminal Record”
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin destroyed CNN’s Dana Bash during an interview this afternoon as she tried to push RINO pro-amnesty Rep. Maria Salazar’s narrative that half of the illegals detained by ICE are not criminals.
Salazar and the Democrats don’t care if it’s illegal to sneak into the country. They want aliens to rape or murder someone first before they can be deported.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Salazar gave an angry lecture to the President in a campaign ad, claiming that “50 percent of the 50,000 people that were detained had no criminal record.”
She further claimed that “the same Hispanics who helped you get to the White House in 2024 feel betrayed today.” In Salazar’s own telling, Hispanics did not vote for the signature mass deportation promise that Trump made.
“Mr. President, some of your immigration enforcement efforts have gone too far,” she said in the ad, angrily waving her finger at the camera with a look of disgust for the President.
Now, Democrats and left-wing media are using Salazar as a weapon against the Trump Administration.
Leftist CNN host Dana Bash pointed to her comments when attempting to corner Mullin on Friday. "Just going back to the crux of what Republican Congresswoman Salazar is saying," Bash said, "she is citing numbers that were FOIAed... and in July, 50% of the 50,000 people detained had no criminal record."
"You are totally comfortable with that, and you will continue on that?" she asked.
Mullin fired back, "That's actually not true. Every one of them was criminals because they broke our nation's laws when they came across our borders illegally."
"Beyond that, beyond that," Bash said, demanding a further explanation.
"What level of criminal activity are you willing to accept? We are tasked with enforcing the nation's laws. I can't repeat this enough. I don't pick and choose. Our men and women that chose to serve this country and work for the Department of Homeland Security, which we have the greatest men and women working for us with our 80,000 strong law enforcement agencies, we don't pick and choose," Mullin shot back again.
"Congress is the one who set those laws. We are enforcing them. When you broke the law, when you came in this country illegally, you chose to become a criminal at that point. Regardless if you consider a criminal being a pedophile or not, a criminal is a criminal," he continued amid Bash's repeated attempts to interrupt.
