White House says RNC using ‘dangerous conspiracy’ employment litmus test – Washington Examiner

The White House indirectly condemned the Republican National Committee for reportedly asking prospective employees whether they consider the 2020 election to have been stolen.

As a point of comparison, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said President Joe Biden stood with the rule of law.

Biden “believes in the need to respect the officers who put their lives at risk on that day and to keep everyone safe,” according to Jean-Pierre.

“We saw what happened on Jan. 6. Some of you covered that,” she told reporters Wednesday. “Our democracy was under attack. We lost lives.”

“What we saw was because of the dangerous conspiracy theories,” she said. “The Trump administration itself certified that the 2020 election was the most secure in our history, but yet, this is what we saw. So we’re going to continue to stand with law enforcement. We’re going to continue to fight for our democracy.”

The Washington Post reported that the RNC, now under the leadership of former North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Michael Whatley and former President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara, has been asking potential new hires for their stance on the last election.

“I think we’re past that. I think that’s in the past,” Lara Trump told NBC News this week, adding, “The past is the past.”
