Hahahaha! My man was protecting his ladies!
If you didn’t know, elks are in the middle of rut season, so it’s not a shocker that a massive bull elk decided to charge at a golf cart recently. From September-November, it’s common for these animals to be more aggressive due to it being mating season, doing so to establish their dominance and lock up a female partner.
Caught on video and published to Instagram by Good Bull Guided Tours, a male bull elk surrounded by three females charged at a golf cart that was zooming by a little bit too close, and the male let him know about it as he clipped the back of the cart with his antlers. The video comes out of Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, which is estimated to have more than 280,000 elk living in parts of the state. As a result, the Centennial State has the biggest concentrated population of elk on the planet.

Fall in Colorado means it’s elk rut season! If you’re in Rocky Mountain National Park or Estes Park right now, you might hear bull elk bugling—some say it sounds straight out of Lord of the Rings. The rut peaks from mid-September to mid-October, but you can sometimes hear it… pic.twitter.com/qr2mzRtMZn
