A baby girl was born at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis during the Sunday football game between the Indianapolis Colts and the Cleveland Browns, WLFI reported.
The newborn is the niece of Browns wide receiver David Bell, an Indianapolis native, according to WLFI.
“Our niece was born here in the stadium today,” Butler said, per WLFI. “Our niece went into labor and they delivered her at 1:20. So it’s a really exciting day today.”
Bell stated the timing of the birth was unexpected. The baby’s due date was initially set for the 26th, but labor started just as the family was arriving crossing the street on their way to the stadium. Seeking immediate help, they headed to the stadium’s first aid station where the birth occurred at approximately 1:20 p.m., 20 minutes after the game had started, according to NBC News.

“Her whole idea was to try to have the baby before the game but, you know, it’s all in God’s timing,” the NFL player added, per WLFI. “Now I have a new niece, so hopefully I get to see her when I come back to the city.” (RELATED: Rihanna Shares Rare First Pics Of Newborn Son After Quiet Pregnancy)
A spokesperson from the stadium extended gratitude to Indiana University Health for facilitating the birth and congratulated the family, NBC News reported.
On the field, the Browns secured a victory against the Colts with a final score of 39-38, highlighted by a last-minute touchdown by Cleveland’s Kareem Hunt.
