Women’s March planned outside of White House ahead of Election Day – Washington Examiner

Abortion-rights protesters who are worried former President Donald Trump will be the winner of the presidential election are planning to spend the weekend before Election Day marching near the White House.

This version of the Women’s March will take place Saturday. The “We Won’t Go Back” rallies will also occur in Atlanta, Georgia; Tampa, Florida; Sacramento, California; Boston, Massachusetts; and Dallas and Austin, Texas, among other cities.

“We are bringing our fight for abortion access directly to the steps of the White House to tell elected officials we won’t go back. Women’s March and Women’s March WIN are ready to rally our base and will stop at nothing to defend our reproductive rights and defeat authoritarianism,” Women’s March Executive Director Rachel O’Leary Carmona said in a statement. “We will fight to take down Donald Trump again – just like we did in 2020 – and make sure state officials see the electoral consequences of the now 21 Trump abortion bans that have put lives on the line across the country.”

Additionally, the organization will start a mobile billboard campaign beginning Friday with an advertisement reading: “We Won’t Back Down on Abortion Rights” throughout Washington, D.C., and at the city’s Union Market, there will be a light projection from 6 p.m. ET until 1:00 a.m. that says: “SAY IT WITH US: ABORTION IS NOT A CRIME!”

Trump appointed three of the Supreme Court Justices who ultimately overturned the federal protection around the procedure with their Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision.
