New Details Emerge In Capture Of Escaped Illegal Alien Convicted Of Murder

An elite team of Border Patrol agents is responsible for capturing escaped killer Danelo Cavalcante, who was in the U.S. illegally, the Pennsylvania State Police said Wednesday.

The Border Patrol Tactical Unit (BORTAC) released a dog on the killer, who had escaped detention nearly two weeks ago, after finding him within a pile of logs behind a John Deere store in South Coventry Township, Police Lt. Col. George Bivens said during a news conference on Wednesday. Cavalcante escaped from Chester County Prison in West Chester on Aug. 31 a week after receiving a life sentence for the fatal stabbing of his ex-girlfriend, Deborah Brandao. (RELATED: EXCLUSIVE: Border Patrol Memo Lays The Groundwork For Mass Release Of Illegal Immigrants Into The US)

“We’d like to remain as silent professionals … We don’t like the exposure, we just like to be quiet about our tactics, we just like to go in and get business taken care of,” a BORTAC agent, who confirmed the latest action, previously told the Daily Caller News Foundation regarding the group’s response to the Uvalde school shooting.

Cavalcante is a former gang member wanted for murder in Brazil. He stabbed Brandao after she threatened to contact authorities when she learned about the Brazilian charges against him.

The elite Border Patrol team is also responsible for nabbing a man believed to be responsible for the killing of five people in Cleveland, Texas, in May. In May 2022, BORTAC agents also entered elementary school classrooms during the Uvalde, Texas, shooting when local law enforcement waited to take such action.

There were multiple sightings of the escaped killer, who allegedly stole a dairy truck and obtained a .22 caliber rifle after breaking into a local residence, during the manhunt.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
