A worship service at Auburn University received thousands of attendees from the school‘s student population, with over 100 students leaving the service baptized.
The event, held Tuesday evening, was called “Unite” and was intended to bring the Alabama school’s Christian community together for a night of worship. However, Jennie Allen, one of the event’s main speakers, revealed toward the end of the event that several students had asked to be baptized.

“I’ve been a part of just planning this event and man, the Lord just took it from there and we ended up at the Red Barn,” said Jeremy Napier, the chaplain for the Auburn men’s basketball team. “It was not planned at all. I think this was a spontaneous decision at the very end where we just said ‘let’s go for it.'”
Napier believes that over 100 students were baptized on Tuesday night, over 20 of whom were baptized by him. He has encouraged the students who were baptized to start attending a local church where they can be more grounded in their faith in God.

“We serve an awesome God who can do amazing things,” Napier said. “My prayer obviously is that all these decisions were genuine decisions and heart change.”
The event was headlined by Allen and Jonathan Pokluda as the main speakers, with Allen serving as a Bible teacher and the founder of “IF:Gathering,” an event for women’s ministry in the church. Pokluda serves as a pastor from Harris Creek Baptist Church in Waco, Texas, and also created the Porch ministry, a weekly gathering of young adults in Dallas, Texas.
