Gunman at large after shooting at Delaware hospital leaves one dead

One person is dead after a gunman shot two people at Wilmington Hospital in Delaware on Tuesday, police said, as authorities search for the shooter.

The gunman, believed to be a temporary employee, allegedly shot two co-workers at the hospital, ABC News reported. Police responded to the incident around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The condition of the two employees who were shot is unknown, and police are withholding their identities.

Delaware State Police and FBI personnel were on the scene, but authorities have yet to identify the suspect. 

“Anytime there’s any shooting incident, it’s always difficult,” said David Karas, a Wilmington Police Department spokesman. “It’s certainly not what a community wants, and we’re going to make sure to get to the bottom of it and hold the individual responsible.”
