Actor and producer Kevin Sorbo released a new children’s book, The Test of Lionhood, that he hopes will help boys learn to embrace a healthy masculinity.

Actor Kevin Sorbo has grown tired of watching a “woke” society emasculate the modern-day man, both on the big screen and in everyday life.

To help combat “the killing of chivalry and manhood ,” Sorbo released his new children’s book , The Test of Lionhood, which details the journey of a lion cub named Lucas, who braves a daring journey to find the cure for a deadly infection facing his sister.

Sorbo, perhaps best known for his lead role in Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, said he hopes to inspire boys to stand tall and be brave men in the face of challenges.

“Our movies and TV are filled with sex and violence and evil, and the celebration of evil, the celebration of the antihero. It’s weird to me,” Sorbo told the Washington Examiner. “So, we’re raising up a whole generation just looking for a reason to complain and looking for a reason to point a finger for their own failures.”

“We need men to start being men and realize that God never promised us an easy life. We have to find a way to get past all the hardships in life because we’re always going to have hardships,” he added. “You got to suck it up and take responsibility for yourself.”

Sorbo said he wants society to embrace healthy masculinity, citing a recent study showing more than 75% of men are drifting toward the elimination of traditional masculinity and embracing emasculated manhood.

“The only way to right that road is to stand up,” Sorbo said. “Don’t be afraid.”

The Test of Lionhood joins Kirk Cameron’s children’s books as part of Brave Books’s Freedom Island Book Club. The books are available through the publisher’s book-of-the-month program.
