Ted Cruz warns ‘the country’s gone’ if Texas turns blue in 2024

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) warned that the United States will be “gone” if the state of Texas turns blue in 2024, adding that his Senate race is going to be “a real fight.”
Cruz cited his last Senate race in his prediction for the 2024 Senate election, noting that he won against Democratic challenger Beto O’Rourke by only around 200,000 votes and that the Democratic Party had spent “tens of millions of dollars” in the election, drastically increasing voter turnout among Democratic voters. Cruz also stated that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has “made it clear” he wants to remove him from the Senate seat next year.
ALL THE THING THE HOUSE CAN’T DO WITHOUT A SPEAKER
“They’re gonna spend $100 million the next year trying to flip Texas blue,” Cruz warned. “And I gotta say, if they succeed, if Texas turns blue, the country’s gone. The rest of the country, we don’t stay up at night wondering what happens with Ohio or Florida if Texas turns blue.”
Cruz asked voters to lend their support to him in the Senate race since the Democrats have “set their bull’s-eye on my race.” Rep. Colin Allred (D-TX) and Democratic state Sen. Roland Gutierrez are running in the Democratic Party’s primary for the 2024 Texas Senate race.
Allred recently voted to prohibit federal funds from being used for Texas’s Operation Lone Star as the state faces a surge of illegal immigrants at the southern border. Operation Lone Star is a program spearheaded by Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) in March 2021 to combat illegal immigration in the state, which has led to more than 470,100 illegal immigrant apprehensions, according to the state.
Illegal immigration has been a major talking point and concern among Republican lawmakers, with many calling for increased security along the U.S.’s southern border. Cruz claimed that many illegal immigrants now have an app on their cellphones that allows them to be processed in “two minutes,” enabling them to travel to any major city in the U.S.

“And they say, ‘Lawrence, where do you want to go?'” Cruz said. “And you say, ‘New York City, Big Apple.’ They say ‘Great, go sit over there.’ And all they’re doing from that point on is processing to put you on a plane or a bus to send you wherever you want to go, and every city in America is now a border city. Joe Biden is the last mile of the human trafficking network.”
Border security and illegal immigration have started to become a concern for some Democrats, as Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D-IL) recently sent President Joe Biden a letter placing the blame on “the federal government’s lack of intervention and coordination at the border,” calling the border crisis “untenable.” Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) has also said the border is “too open” and that we need “a limit on who can come across.”
